What to expect after submitting your online entry for SoundPost - Canton...

Print a copy of the entry request for your school's business office, then mail the non-refundable $300 deposit immediately after submitting the entry request. A performance time slot will NOT be guaranteed until the deposit is received.

First week of April, a festival packet will be mailed to the school mailing address provided on your online entry. This packet will include your warm-up and performance times and a final billing invoice, which may be adjusted if the number of participants have changed since the initial online entry submission.

On the performance day your group will be greeted by SoundPost staff at the designated parking area.

For the performance, groups should perform two selections of choice (i.e. pop, light concert, UIL or a combination). Each group is adjudicated on their performance not on what music is performed. Performances are awarded Superior (1st Division) or Excellent (2nd Division) ratings, each of which include a trophy. Your group's professional recording is perfect for OPS entries, TMEA Honor Band entries or simply a wonderful performance memory. 

Adjudicators
Each group will be judged by three successful music educators. Each group's information will be filled out on judges' sheets at check-in. Directors are required to bring three sets of each score and the announcer's sheet that you received in your packet.

Performance Venue
SoundPost Music Festivals - Canton is held at the Canton ISD Performing Arts Center. Students and directors alike enjoy performing in the beautiful 1200 seat Canton ISD Performing Arts Center.​​
